• Marquette Bank Kicks Off 5th Annual Neighborhood Food Drive to Help Fight Hunger

Local bank encourages employees, customers and neighbors to donate non-perishable food items to support food pantries

Orland Park, IL (April 27, 2012) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, is launching its 5th Annual Neighborhood Food Drive on May 1, 2012. Bank employees, customers, neighbors and local businesses are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items at any of the 24 Marquette Bank locations or make an online donation. Donations will be collected through June 23, 2012 and distributed to local pantries and neighborhood food banks through the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) and the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB).

“Last year, Marquette Bank donated over 62,500 meals to the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Northern Illinois Food Bank,” said Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President. “With the help of our employees, customers and neighbors, we look forward to making this year’s food drive a huge success.”

Donations of non-perishable food items can be placed in food barrels at any of Marquette Bank’s 24 Chicagoland locations. Employees of the Bank will also be spending several days volunteering at the Greater Chicago Food Depository sorting and packing donated food items.

The Neighborhood Food Drive is a part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment, where each quarter the Bank focuses on a different area of need: shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness.
