• Marquette Bank Employees Host 7th Annual PINKnic to Support Breast Cancer Research  

    Annual fundraiser kicks off local bank's upcoming sponsorship of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

    Orland Park, IL (August 15, 2012) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, held its 7th Annual Marquette Bank Employee PINKnic to raise money for breast cancer research and the American Cancer Society. The pink-themed, employee-organized picnic held at the bank’s Corporate Center in Orland Park officially launched Marquette Bank’s efforts to raise money for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, where Marquette Bank will be a flagship sponsor. This year’s South Suburban walk will be held Sunday,
    Oct. 14, 2012 at Centennial Park in Orland Park.

    ”We’d like to thank all of our local vendors, our employees and their family members who contributed to this year’s PINKnic fundraiser benefiting breast cancer research ,” said George Moncada, President & CEO. “We’re always proud to support the American Cancer Society, which impacts so many lives, as most people have a family member or know someone touched by breast cancer.”

    Fundraising activities at the PINKnic included a silent auction, bingo, prize drawings, food and drink sales along with the main attraction, “PINKnic gets the Blues,” featuring blues musicians, Rockin’ Johnny Burgin and Smiley Tillmon. The PINKnic was attended by over 195 Marquette Bank employees, family members and vendors and collected more than $9,200. This event is part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment, where each quarter the Bank focuses on a different area of need: shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness.
