    About Good Neighbor Day
Good Neighborhood Day was introduced in the early 1970s by Mrs. Betsy Mattson of Montana. She saw the importance of being a good neighbor and began efforts to make this a nationally-recognized day. In 2003, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution, sponsored by Montana Senator Max Baucus, that made Sept. 28th National Good Neighbor Day. On this day, neighbors are encouraged to get to know each other better and help each other out.
