Marquette Bank Remains Flagship Sponsor for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Orland Park
Bank Employees Help Raise Over $13,000 for Breast Cancer Research
Orland Park, IL (October 17, 2012) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, served as one of this year’s flagship sponsors for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, which took place at Centennial Park in Orland Park. The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event occurs every October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and helps to raise money for breast cancer research. This year over 75 Marquette Bank employees, family members and friends supported the event by walking or volunteering. Marquette Bank employees helped contribute over $13,000 to the American Cancer Society through the breast cancer walk sponsorship and the annual employee PINKnic that was held in August. “Breast cancer is a serious issue that impacts a lot of lives. We are proud to be a flagship sponsor of the Making Strides walk for the 4th year in a row,” Fran Platt, Assistant Vice President of Commercial Loan Operations, said. “We would like to thank all of our employees and their family members who came out and supported this great event.” Marquette Bank sponsored the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk as part of its Health/Wellness activities. Each quarter, as part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment, Marquette Bank focuses on a different area of need: shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness. Since 2001, Marquette Bank has contributed over $108,000 to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research and many employees have participated in all 12 walks.
