Marquette Bank Donates Over 500 Books to Benefit Local Children
Bank employees support education with Children's Book Drive
Orland Park, IL (October 5, 2012) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, wrapped up its 2nd annual Neighborhood Children’s Book Drive. The employee-driven book drive was held to benefit local schools and organizations in need of new and gently used books for children. Over 500 books were donated by bank employees throughout August and September and were given to Our Lady of the Ridge in Chicago Ridge and The Port Ministries in Chicago. “At Marquette Bank, we pride ourselves on supporting education initiatives, especially for children in our local communities,” Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President, said. The Neighborhood Children’s Book Drive was part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment where each quarter the bank focuses on a different area of need – shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness. Other education activities included: Marquette Bank Education Foundation Scholarship Program, which awarded scholarships to 54 local graduating seniors, the annual Neighborhood School Suppl Drive and the Adopt-A-Classroom Prize Drawing, which benefitted 26 neighborhood classrooms.
