Marquette Bank Keeps Neighbors Warm with Winter Coat Drive
Neighborhood bank donates coats and clothing to local organization
Orland Park, IL (December 5, 2012) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, donated over 80 coats though its Annual Neighborhood Coat and Clothing Drive, an employee-driven effort to benefit local organizations. Throughout September and October, employees collected gently used coats and other clothing items and then sorted the donations and distributed them to four neighborhood nonprofits including Ducap Organizations in Bolingbrook, Englewood Cares Outreach Ministries in Chicago, Metropolitan Family Services in Chicago, The Olive Branch Mission Branch in Chicago, Together We Cope in Tinley Park and Worth Township. All of the coats were dry-cleaned free of charge by Norman’s Cleaners in Orland Park, IL. “Our coat drive will help those most in need this winter as the cold whether begins to set. Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President, said. “We would like to thank our employees, customers and local organizations and businesses that made this year’s coat drive possible.” The Annual Neighborhood Coat and Clothing Drive is part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment where each quarter the Bank focuses on a different area of need – shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness. Other health/wellness activities included: sponsorship of the South Suburban Making Stride Against Breast Cancer Walk to benefit the American Cancer Society; Marquette Bank’s Adopt-a-Solider Project which sent holiday care packages to troops stationed overseas and the Adopt-a-Family Program which provides holiday presents for families in need.
