Marquette Bank Employees Sprout "Movember" Moustaches For Men's Health OrganizationsLocal bank employees participate in Movember to raise men's health awareness
Orland Park, IL (December 1, 2012) – Employees of Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, recently took part in ‘Movember,’ a global movement where men grow moustaches throughout November to help raise men’s health awareness, specifically for prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. Participants of Movember, known as ‘Mo Bros,’ begin Nov. 1 clean shaven. Throughout the month, they grow, groom, trim and wax their moustaches to become walking billboards for the Movember cause. Through their actions and words, they raise awareness by promoting private and public conversation around men’s health, an often-ignored issue. This was the second year Marquette Bank participated in Movember activities and nine employees grew moustaches as part of a contest. The three employees with the best moustaches, as voted by all bank employees, were able to choose a men’s health organization to receive a donation from the bank. Below are the winners:Budgeting and saving
First place: Cesar Rodriguez (Information Systems Department) Organization: The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago Second place: Rich Hunt (Information Systems Department) Organization: The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Chicago Third place: Chris Vilos (Orland Park 159th branch) Organization: The American Urological Association Foundation
“We had five guys grow moustaches in our department, so it was fun to watch the progression over the course of the month,” Cesar Rodrigues, AVP and IT Manager and 1st place winner of Marquette Bank’s Movember Moustache Contest, said. “This is a great way to get people involved and raise men’s health awareness and it was also very rewarding to help benefit the organizations. The 2nd annual Movember effort is part of Marquette Bank’s Neighborhood Commitment, where each quarter Marquette Bank focuses on a different area of need – shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness.
