• Marquette Bank Announces 2013 Free Financial Education Classes Schedule for Customers and Neighbors
    Neighborhood bank continues 10-year tradition of offering free financial education classes for local residents 

    Orland Park, IL (January 3, 2013) – Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, announced the 2013 schedule for its Personal Finance and Good Start Finance Classes.

    For the past 10 years, Marquette Bank has offered its Personal Finance Class, an in-depth, two-day course that covers the basics of household budgeting, maintaining a checking account, managing bills, understanding credit and how banking works. The Good Start Finance Class is a new offering and less of a time commitment with more of an online focus, including: how to best use your checking account, mobile banking, online banking, online statements, online bill payment and how to protect yourself from identity theft.

    There are six different dates available in 2013 for Marquette Bank’s free Personal Finance Class, which is a two-session course that lasts for five hours,( and will take place at the Marquette Bank located at 6316 S. Western Ave. in Chicago:

    • Saturday, Feb.9 (9 a.m. to noon) & Saturday, Feb.16 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
    • Saturday, April 6 (9 a.m. to noon) & Saturday, April 13 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
    • Saturday, June 8 (9 a.m. to noon) & Saturday, June 15 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
    • Saturday, Aug. 10 (9 a.m. to noon) & Saturday, Aug. 17 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
    • Saturday, Oct. 12 (9 a.m. to noon) & Saturday, Oct.19 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)
    • Saturday, Nov.9 (9 a.m. to noon) & Saturday, Nov. 16 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.)


    The free Good Start Finance Class is a 90 minute time commitment and will take place  seven times at three different Marquette Bank locations in 2013:


    • Saturday, Jan. 19 – 10a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 5700 W. 159th St., Oak Forest
    • Saturday, March 9 – 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 6316 S. Western Ave., Chicago
    • Saturday, April 27 –10a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 7447 W. 63rd St., Summit
    • Saturday, May 18 – 10a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 5700 W. 159th St., Oak Forest
    • Saturday, July 13 – 10a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 6316 S. Western Ave., Chicago
    • Saturday, Sept.14 – 10a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 7447 W. 63rd St., Summit
    • Saturday, Oct. 26 – 10a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 6316 S. Western Ave., Chicago
