Marquette Bank Supports Local Teens and Families Through Partnership With The Bridge Teen CenterOrland Park, IL (Jan. 22, 2013) – The Bridge Teen Center is pleased to announce the newest member of their family of supporters, Marquette Bank. Marquette recently made a $3,500 contribution to organization, and plans are underway to build on that partnership in 2013 and beyond. Marquette Bank is a neighborhood bank, with 23 branches, that provides personal banking, home financing, business banking and lending. The partnership with the Bridge Teen Center is part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment where each quarter the bank focuses on giving back in a different area of need – shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness. “Marquette Bank is so excited to partner with the Bridge Teen Center. We are always looking for organizations that share our vision of improving our local communities,” Manny Jimenez, Vice President of Community Reinvestment & Economic Development said. “At the bank, we try to improve the lives of our neighbors and families by helping them achieve their financial dreams in life and at the Bridge Teen Center, they focus on connecting with teens and help them develop leadership, confidence and find their life’s passion in a safe, fun environment. We look forward to working together with them to further their mission.“ “The Bridge Teen Center continues to be humbled by the outpouring of support from individuals, businesses, and foundations in our community,” said Priscilla Steinmetz, Founder and Executive Director of The Bridge. “The Bridge has been built by the community, for the community – and without the support of places like Marquette Bank, we could not provide our free afterschool programs and entertainment events for teens. While we get a lot of credit for the work we do here, people like those at Marquette Bank are the real heroes.” The Bridge Teen Center is located at 15555 S. 71st Court in Orland Park, IL. The Bridge Teen Center is an innovative grassroots nonprofit community center that was designed around the needs and interests of teens in the suburbs. The Bridge provides free holistically-designed afterschool programming and a safe environment for weekend entertainment. Monthly programs that help parents navigate through the teenage years are also offered. To date, over 1,600 unique students from 68 different communities have been served by The Bridge. In 2011, The Bridge received national recognition through the Afterschool Alliance for having some of the most innovative and successful teen-specific programming in the nation.
