Orland Park, IL (February 28, 2013) – Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, recently gave back to the community by providing a helping hand to St. Blasé Supper Kitchen in Summit. On Wed., Feb 20th, 15 bank employees prepared and served dinner for over 85 guests at the Supper Kitchen.

“As a neighborhood bank, we feel it is important to help those who are less fortunate in our community. During the winter months it is especially critical to assist organizations that feed families and individuals in need,” Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President said. “St. Blasé provides a vital service in our community, we are proud to have been volunteering with them the last three years.”

In 2003, the Supper Kitchen, which is part of St. Blasé Parish, was founded by the Albertine Sisters in collaboration with Catholic Charities, who care for and help the most in need residents in the surrounding area. Food is distributed each week, and hot dinners are served at the Supper Kitchen every Wednesday.

Marquette Bank’s volunteer effort at the St. Blasé Supper Kitchen is part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment where each quarter the bank focuses on a different area of need – shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness.
