Marquette Bank Employees Volunteer at St. Christopher Parish
Neighborhood Bank employees prepare and serve dinner for over 100 guests at St. Christopher parish
Orland Park, IL (July 8, 2013) – Employees of Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, recently volunteered at the St. Christopher parish in Midlothian to provide dinner to over 100 guests as part of St. Christopher’s Supper Program. Seventeen bank employees volunteered their time and while other employees donated items for the dinner. “At Marquette Bank, we strongly believe in feeding the hungry in our communities, which is why we dedicate a whole quarter of our Marquette Neighborhood Commitment to the cause,” Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President, said. “A lot of people don’t realize how many people in our communities go hungry every day and we are very proud of our employees and their dedication and passion to help those in need.” St. Christopher Parish is one of hundreds of parishes providing meals for the hungry through Catholic Charities, an organization that provides food, clothing, shelter and counseling to the less fortunate in the city of Chicago and its suburbs. Catholic Charities provides around 100 meals to the homeless and hungry at different parishes weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Marquette Bank’s volunteer efforts at the St. Christopher Supper Kitchen is part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment where each quarter the bank focuses on a different area of need – shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness.
