• Marquette Bank Donates Over 48,000 Meals to Local Food Banks

Local bank employees, customers and neighbors help fight hunger through 6th annual Neighborhood Food Drive

Orland Park, IL (July 26, 2013) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, wrapped up its 6th annual Neighborhood Food Drive and collected over 48,000 meals for families in need. The food items collected were donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) and the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB), where they will be distributed to local food banks and pantries in the Chicagoland area.

“As a neighborhood bank, we pride ourselves on giving back to our local communities and with the help of the Greater Chicago Food Depository and Northern Illinois Food Bank, we were able to make this year’s food drive a success,” Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President, said. “We would like to thank all of our customers, neighbors and employees who donated and volunteered during our food drive.”

Collection barrels were provided by the GCFD and placed at all Marquette Bank locations where employees, customers and neighbors were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items into the branches. Bank employees and their family members also volunteered almost 100 hours at the GCFD during the food drive by taking shifts, sorting and packing food. Since 2008, Marquette Bank has donated over 300,000 meals to the GCFD and NIFB through its annual Neighborhood Food Drive.

The Neighborhood Food Drive is a part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment,
where each quarter the bank focuses on a different area of need: shelter, hunger, education
and health/wellness. To find out how you can help the GCFD, go to: www.chicagofoodbank.org or visit www.northernilfoodbank.org for information on how to assist the NIFB. For more information about Marquette Bank, call 1-888-254-9500 or visit www.emarquettebank.com.
