Marquette Bank Affordable Housing Foundation Offers $250,000 in First-Time Home Buyer GrantsNeighborhood bank offers $10,000 and $12,500 grants to qualified local home buyers
Orland Park, IL (October 16, 2013) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, is working with the Marquette Bank Affordable Housing Foundation to offer grants to first-time home buyers who meet geographical and income requirements such as having a household income of less than $58,800 and purchasing a home within one of the 600+ low or moderate income census tracts in Marquette Bank’s assessment area.
“The Marquette Bank Affordable Housing Foundation was created in 2007 to promote affordable home ownership in the communities the Bank serves,” said Manuel Jimenez, Vice President, CRA Officer. “The foundation has always offered down payment assistance to first-time home buyers through its grant programs, but this program is the highest value of any grant we have offered so far.”
First-time home buyers meeting both the geographical and income requirements may be eligible to receive a $12,500 grant and those meeting at least one requirement may be eligible for a $10,000 grant. The Marquette Bank Affordable Housing Foundation has allotted $250,000 to fund the first-time home buyer grant program which will be offered through Dec. 31, 2013.
Marquette Bank’s assessment area includes the City of Chicago, the southern portion of Cook County, the southeastern portion of Kane County and the entire Will, DuPage and Kendall Counties. Purchased property must be used as the home buyer’s primary residence and can be a single-family home, condo or townhome. Home buyers are also subject to credit approval and underwriting standards.
