• Marquette Bank Celebrates Pinktober During October to Raise Awareness for Breast Cancer

Bank Employees Contribute Over $9,500 for Breast Cancer Research

Orland Park, IL (November 12, 2013) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, served as one of this year’s flagship sponsors for The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk during its Pinktober activities. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk occurs every October and helps to raise money for breast cancer research. This year over 100 Marquette Bank employees, family members and friends supported the event by walking or volunteering. Marquette Bank employees helped contribute over $9,500 to the American Cancer Society through sponsorship and donations.

“Everyone knows someone who has been directly or indirectly affected with breast cancer, which is why events like Pinktober and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer are so important,” Fran Platt, Assistant Vice President of Commercial Loan Operations, said. “We would like to thank all of our customers, neighbors and employees who helped make Pinktober such a success.”

Marquette Bank sponsored the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk as part of its Pinktober activites. Other Pinktober activities included jeans day fundraisers along with forming “pink teams” at bank branches. Over 250 employees formed 22 “pink teams,” that helped decorate bank branches pink in October. Since 2001, Marquette Bank has contributed over $117,000 to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research and many employees have participated in all 13 walks.
