Marquette Bank Employees Pack Lunches for South Suburban PADS Neighborhood bank employees help feed the hungry through weekly service project
Orland Park, IL (February 28, 2014) – Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, continues to partner with South Suburban PADS (Public Action to Deliver Shelter), an organization that provides shelter and support services to the homeless in the south suburbs. Since October 2013, Marquette Bank has prepared and delivered around 1,800 lunch bags containing sandwiches, drinks, fruit and snacks for South Suburban PADS. “People sometimes forget that hunger is still quite prevalent in our neighborhoods and partnering with South Suburban PADS has allowed Marquette Bank to make a difference in many people’s lives who would have to skip a meal because they couldn’t afford to eat,” Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President, said. “We would like to give a big thanks to our generous employees, for not only donating food, but for also taking the time to pack the lunches every week.” Marquette Bank has provided 8,400 lunches since 2010 to feed the hungry in local neighborhoods. The bank encourages community members to help make a difference by calling 1-708-754-4357 to learn more about volunteer opportunities or by making a donation to South Suburban PADS online at www.sspads.org. Marquette Bank’s support of South Suburban PADS is part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment where each quarter the bank focuses on a different area of need – shelter, hunger, education and health/wellness.
