• Marquette Bank Employees Donate Over 200 Easter Baskets to Port Ministries Charity
Local bank employees celebrate Easter holiday through community service

Orland Park, IL (April 28, 2014) – Employees of Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, filled over 200 Easter baskets with candy and toys for the Port Ministries’ Bread Truck to deliver to less fortunate children in the Chicagoland area. During the month of April, employees purchased items and filled Easter baskets for kids to enjoy on the Easter holiday.

“This has become a favorite volunteer  activity for Marquette Bank and every year we continue to increase the amount of Easter baskets donated to families in need,” Betty Kosky-Harn, Executive Vice President, said. “We are grateful for our generous employees who continue to support and bring happiness to the children in our neighborhoods during the Easter holiday.”

For over 20 years, Port Ministries has been a multi-faceted ministry to poor and homeless families in Chicago. Throughout the years, they have expanded in response to the increasing needs of area residents, including delivering food with their Bread Truck, which is essentially a mobile soup kitchen that “hits the streets” every day to provide nutritious meals to the poor. All food items are donated by individuals, schools, churches and other organizations and the truck is manned by one coordinator and committed volunteers.
