Chicago, IL (June 6, 2005) - -- Marquette Bank Foundation awarded scholarships to 40 graduating high school students in a recognition ceremony held June 04, 2005 at the Midway Holiday Inn Select. At the special ceremony for friends and family, each student received a distinctive plaque and a check for $3,500 payable to the college of their choice. Scholarship recipients were chosen by their High School's Principal or Senior Counselor based on three criteria: academic excellence, community service and financial need.

The Marquette Bank Foundation was formed in October, 2003 by Marquette Bank's Board of Directors to enhance and perpetuate the Scholarship Program. While the Marquette Bank Foundation is the administrator, the Scholarship Program is a long-standing tradition at Marquette Bank with its inception in 1967. Each year, Marquette offers local community parochial and public high schools the opportunity to participate in the program. The program has grown substantially in the past thirty-eight years, granting over $1.3 million in scholarships to 977 high school students in Chicagoland communities.
