• Marquette Bank Celebrates Halloween with Neighborhood Service Projects

Neighborhood Bank provides Halloween fun by helping local organizations

Orland Park, IL (November 4, 2013) –– Marquette Bank, a locally-owned neighborhood bank, continued its tradition of helping community organizations during the fall season by working with the Port Ministries and the New Horizon Center in Chicago as part of the Marquette Neighborhood Commitment.

“At Marquette Bank, we pride ourselves on helping the local community,” Christie Cox, Director of Marketing, said. “As a neighborhood bank, we love working with reputable local nonprofits, like Port Ministries and New Horizon Center, because our employees have fun volunteering and it’s so rewarding to see the positive impact we have on the children’s and adults’ lives.

For the third year, the bank held their Halloween Treat Project, which helps the Port Ministries, a multi-faceted ministry for disadvantaged and homeless families in Chicago. Marquette Bank purchased enough candy for 300 bags that were packed by employee volunteers for the Port Ministries bread truck to distribute to children living in disadvantaged neighborhoods on the south side of Chicago.

New Horizon Center in Chicago is an agency that provides educational programs and services to children and adults with developmental disabilities and autism. Marquette Bank donated pumpkins that were used as a craft activity for participants in its Adult Developmental Training Program.
