In the past couple of years, we have seen numerous national retail chains experience data breaches of payment information impacting millions of credit and debit cards. Many consumers have even seen their debit card reissued multiple times in the same year. Marquette Bank takes a proactive approach to monitoring your accounts, protecting you against fraud and reissuing your debit card.

Marquette Bank is constantly monitoring our entire transaction data and reviewing industry reports of possible data breaches. When a data breach is confirmed, we take immediate steps to protect your accounts and replace your debit card.

Unlike many banks that cut off your access to your funds by turning your card off, we inform you of the breach and leave the card active while monitoring for possible fraud until your new card arrives.

During a data breach, you are not liable for fraudulent charges made on your card. Some banks choose not to reissue cards when breached and only replace cards if fraud occurs. We take a more active approach and replace cards immediately; this protects the Bank from fraud, but also gives you the peace of mind knowing the breached card cannot be used in any fraud. Many customers find this more convenient and less stressful than constantly reviewing their transactions and statements and worrying when their card has been breached.

Traveling Out of State or Out of Country

All Marquette Bank cards come with advanced fraud protection to help identify possible fraud on your account. If you are planning to take a trip outside of the normal area where you would typically use your debit card, call 1-888-254-9500 and inform us on the dates and locations of your travels. This way your card will not interpret your out of state (or out of country) purchases or transactions to be fraud.
